Fashion Sample Making (300 hrs.)
(200 Lecture Hours + 100 Lab Hours)
Students will learn how to use industrial sewing machines professionally and safely in this program. They are expected to learn the skills and techniques necessary to create a professional garment sample. Instruction starts with basic seams, seam finishes, pockets, bias bindings, zippers, sleeves, cuffs and collars. The program provides students with a solid foundation of knowledge to be continued in the study of garment construction. Step-by-step sewing instructions will enable students to clearly understand how and why specific garments are constructed using specific techniques commonly used in the field. In this course, students will also learn the latest methods of pattern grading, marker making and pattern making as well as draping including the introduction to 3D pattern making and the whole process of creating a finished garment using 3D drafting techniques |
