Language of Instruction

To effectively fulfill the unique mission and objectives of the College, all courses in the associate degree programs and certificate programs are taught bilingually, both in English and in Chinese. Though all texts, writing assignments, and exams are in English, both the English and Chinese languages are used for classroom instruction. Most instructors are bi-lingual, fluent speakers in Chinese and in English. Indeed, in the unusual case, when an instructor does not speak Chinese, a translator is provided for every class. While the bulk of instruction may actually take place in English, where concepts are difficult to comprehend in English, the instructor will communicate the idea in Chinese. Therefore, we are able to assure that each student has a fair opportunity to learn; no important idea will be left unexplained.
